FAQ

What is my server's IP address?

Description:
There are two cases when you will be asked to enter the unique server IP address:

  • Every time you manualy configure the Scoring Client PRO (not using the QR code registration). The configuration is saved in your mobile. You don't have to provide the IP address and TCP port again every time you restart your mobile.
  • Configuring multiple courts using the embedded database; the Remote (Client) Scoring Server Wi-Fi PRO (Mac/Windows/Linux/Unix) requires the master server IP address and TCP port. The configuration is saved in your remote server. You don't have to provide the IP again every time you restart your remote (client) servers.
  • Reason:
Every computer (server), mobile phone or table has a unique Internet Protocol or IP address which identifies the server in your network. In the currently most widely used version of the Internet Protocol (version 4), the IP addresses are 4 bytes long and are expressed in the form nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn. Each nnn is a number between 0 and 255. The Servet Address is required by the client in order to connect to the server. Each server has a unique address as any web server you use to browse in internet.

    Solution:

    • 1. Start the Scoring Server Wi-Fi.
    • 2. Select the option 'Referee Admin Console' from the Top menu.
    • 3. You will find all available Server IP addresses at the bottom of the page.

In a standard configuration, the address of your server is likely to starts with “192.168.”, “172.16.” or “10.0”.
    • 4. Your server can have more than one IP address. In this case you have to try all your addresses in order to find the right one

The Android Referee Client PRO fails to registre with the Server

    Description:

  • 1. You installed and started the server and the referee mobile.
  • 2. The server is in “Referee Admin Console” screen.
  • 4. Scanning the QR code on your mobile Scoring Wi-Fi PRO Client.
  • 5. The mobile client fails to registre.
  • Reason:
The client and the server may not connected to the same network

    Solution:

  • Restart the server
  • Check if the Mobile Referee and the Server are connected to the same Wi-Fi router.
Please check your device's documentation to confirm the proper settings.
  • Try the QR code again
  • What to do if keeps failing?
If the QR code registration fails, try the manualy oregistration ption. You have to enter the IP address of your server and the TCP port.
  • If the registration still fails you have to check you network confguration and the Wi-Fi router to make sure the Server and the Client are on the same network
  • The scoring buttons are not displayed after the referee mobile is restarted.

    Description:

  • 1. You already registred the referee mobile succesful.
  • 2. You restarted your mobile referee application.
  • 3. The client aplication can not find the server and it's not displaying the buttons.
  • Reason:
The main cause is the network configuration. Your client can't find the server.

    Solution:

  • Confirm if your mobile and Server are connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • If they are not connected, please fix your network connection and try again.
  • I reconnected the mobile and the server to the network but the buttons are still not displayed.
The second potential cause is the server IP address. If your router is using DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), the server and the client devices lease an IP configuration from the router. This router is configured with a pool of available IPs and other settings. Clients contact the server and temporarily borrow an IP address configuration. Your Server may receive a new address after the server is restarted. If the server address keeps changing, to solve the problem, you have to re-registre the client with the server every time the server IP address has been changed. Please consult a computer network specialist to resolve your networking settings and switch to static IP.
  • The score is never changing but the control lights blink every time the referee click the buttons

    Description:
You are using the trial mode. You click the red or blue buttons and the referee name blinks on the server screen. No score is changing.

    Reason:
One of the limitation of the trial mode is the number of scored points. In trail mode you can't score more thean 3 points. After the 3 points are recorded the score can random go up or down.

    Solution:
Restart your game and start the controller again.

The score is never changing but the control lights blink every time for a licensed server with more than one registered referees

    Description:
You have more licensed mobile referees scoring. You click the red or blue button and the control light blink one time on the server screen every single time you touch your mobile screen. However no score is changing even all the referees are clicking almost on the same time.

    Reason:
You can set the number of judges that have to press almost on the same time a button within a predetermined amount of time to score a point in your server console. Also you can tune your predetermined amount of time the referees should press the buttons to validate the score points.

There are two most common reasons for this issue.

    • if you setup the minimum number of judges to score higher than 2(two) or the total number or referees;
    • if your WIFI network or your server are too slow and they cannot process the information just in time;common reason this issue is if you setup the minimum number of referees to score almost on the same time to a number higher than 1(one).

    Solution:
You cannot set this number higher than the number of referees you registered. Please change to value to one (1) and try again. If it's working as expected with one referee, increase the number of referees and try again.

    Solution:
Be sure the network connectivity for server and clients woks properly and the mobile clients are correct configured.
To open these ports is mandatory for our application. In order for the system to work property, be sure your Wi-Fi Access point or firewalls don’t block the traffic for any of the TCP ports used by your server. The default TCP ports:

    • 12357
    • 12346

One of these ports are required by our application for communication. If the mobile cannot find the server or it cannot connect to send points to the server please verify your Wi-Fi configurations. If you are using custom values for your server be sure these ports are not blocked.

Error message: "Server Connection Lost (IP: ...)"

    • If the other users cannot connect too, than restart your server and try again.
    • If your Access point supports dual mode (2.5G and 5G), deactivate one mode and connect all devices to the same Access Point using the same protocol.

If the problem is not resolved, please request a network technician help to check and debug your network connection, your wireless configurations, your WIFI Access Point.

Error message: "The server is not in referee registration mode!"

    Description:

For some mobiles takes less than a sec and up to 3 seconds for registration. The other mobile the registration is timing out or takes up to 30 seconds.

    Reason:
You may have a firewall in your mobile device, in your server or in your Wi-Fi access point block some of the TCP/IP traffic. Our wireless client/server application is using TCP/IP communication and if any of the components blocks the traffic the mobile will not be able to connect to the server.
The Server discovery, Server registration and Server connection during the game are using different protocols and it is possible to get working the discovery but to not be able to register or use the controller after the registration.
In order for the system to work property, be sure your Wi-Fi Access point or firewalls don’t block the traffic for any of the following TCP ports: 12357 and 12346 These ports are required by our application for communication.

How do I configure the server for ITF competitions?

    Description:
The default rules configuration is following the WTF rules. IFT competitions are not using the same rules as WTF to award points for kicks. To use it for an ITF competition you have to manually change the number of points awarded by the server for each button event.

Reason: Organizing competions for ITF clubs

    Solution:
Starting with the PRO version, the TKD Scoring Server Wi-Fi supports events score full customization. You can customize the mobile UI from the server. Using the server option "Referee Mobile UI Designer", you can change the default point for each click, dowble click or swipe for each button.

The Designer allow you to change the buttons layout and to configure the scoring points for each button. Every time the referee mobile will start, will read the UI layout configuration from the server.
